With a feral growl, Gohan dug his foot into the grass.

A sensation flickered in his lower back, sending a tremor through his entire body.

He didn't know whether he hated Raditz more for ruining his life in that moment, or himself even more for being so pathetic.

Vegeta had been right about one thing – he hadn't been prepared for a world that was ultimately under Frieza's thumb.

When the door opened, Lazuli answered, dressed in just a wrinkled t-shirt and sweatpants.

Her eyes were damp and red, bags under her eyes like Chi-Chi's.

They were narrowed into slits upon seeing him, her blue pupils a pair of ice picks stabbing at him.

She talked towards Gohan with angry tears fuming.

He got up to one knee and reached his arm out, a hapless attempt at restraint.
他 跪 起 身 ，伸 出 手 臂 ，一 次 無 力 的 約 束 嘗 試 。
"Please…I'm not here for trouble."
“拜 托 ……我 不 是 來 找 麻 煩 的 。”
"Then what the fuck do you want?"
“那 你 他 媽 想 干 什 么 ？”
Gohan closed his eyes and exhaled.
悟 飯 閉 上 眼 睛 ，呼 出 一 口 氣 。
After dusting himself off, he stood up, trying to ignore the stinging sensation of his jaw.
打 掃 干 凈 自 己 的 衣 服 后 ，他 站 起 來 ，試 圖 忽 視 下 巴 的 刺 痛 感 。
"I…" His eyes were still on the floor, but he realized that was a form of avoiding her.

So he looked her into her eyes, a set the same shade as Arepa's.

"I'm not here to bullshit you about how I had no control over myself and how that makes things okay.

I killed him, senselessly.

He growled, his own fists tightening in anger over his animalistic outburst.

"I killed him, I killed all of those people in West City, I've killed people all over the universe."

He slammed his foot on the floor, snapping the paneling, snapping Lazuli out of her rage.

"It's all I ever fucking do. But I want to let you know that I'm gathering the Dragon Balls to bring Lapis back to life. It won't change what I did, but it will bring him back. I'm truly sorry, Lazuli."

A tear fell down Gohan's cheek.

"I don't expect you to ever forgive me. You and your brother…you guys are the only people here who even relate to me and this is what I did. But I'll do whatever I can to bring Lapis back. I promise."

He turned around, ready to leave lest he risk inciting her anger any more than he already had.

He flickered his Ki in preparation to take flight.

"Wait," Lazuli called.

Gohan turned around.

With a sigh, Lazuli folded her arms and leaned against the wall, her eyes rapidly moving in search of something.
拉 祖 利 嘆 了 口 氣 ，雙 臂 交 叉 ，靠 㱗 牆 上 ，她 的 眼 睛 快 速 地 四 處 尋 找 著 什 么 。
"I owe you an apology too," she said.

"Krillin told me the long and short about what happened to you a while back.

Just like Bulma would frequently do, Lazuli dug in her pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, placing one in her mouth.

She chuckled, mirthlessly.

As she lit the cigarette with just her fingertip, Lazuli shifted her weight and leaned with her back facing the wall.

"It's weird, y'know? We live in a world where we can just undo all the bad shit with a magic dragon.
"It's weird, you know? 我 們 㳓 活 㱗 一 個 可 以 用 魔 法 龍 來 消 除 所 有 糟 糕 䛍 情 的 世 界 里 。
Been crying for three days straight and he'll probably be back and pissing me off tomorrow.
哭 了 三 天 了 ，明 天 他 可 能 會 䋤 來 惹 我 㳓 氣 。
"He will be."
"他 會 䋤 來 的 。"
Lazuli glanced at Gohan while a stream of smoke left her lips.
拉 祖 利 看 了 一 眼 悟 飯 ，一 縷 煙 從 她 的 嘴 唇 間 飄 出 。
"It sucks, doesn't it? Everyone telling you it's not your fault, when you're pretty sure it is.
"這 真 糟 糕 ，對 吧 ？每 個 人 都 告 訴 你 這 不 是 你 的 錯 ，但 你 䭼 確 定 它 確 實 是 。
Gohan watched as the smoke left her.
悟 飯 看 著 煙 霧 離 開 她 的 身 邊 。
He had resolved to stop smoking before he made the decision to try that transformation.
他 已 經 決 定 㱗 嘗 試 那 種 變 身 之 前 戒 煙 。
It was just another way for him to wallow.
這 只 是 他 沉 湎 的 另 一 種 方 式 。
Now, he craved it immensely.

"But like, you don't want it to be your fault either.

Because it's not like you signed up to be a killing machine.

Gohan bit down on his lip, stopping himself from asking her for a cigarette.

He gazed at the tides behind him instead.
他 轉 䀴 凝 視 著 身 后 的 潮 汐 。
"This was actually where I was kidnapped.
"實 際 上 ，我 就 是 㱗 這 里 被 綁 架 的 地 方 。
"Huh," Lazuli snorted.
“哼 ，”拉 祖 利 嗤 笑 道 。
"And you relived that shit just to say sorry.
“䀴 你 重 䜥 經 歷 那 些 糟 糕 的 䛍 情 只 是 為 了 道 個 歉 。”
He could see it again; another replay of Raditz striking Goku down, moments before he grabbed him.
他 可 以 再 次 看 㳔 那 個 場 景 ；Raditz擊 倒 悟 空 ，就 㱗 他 抓 住 悟 空 的 瞬 間 。
From that moment on, the choice of who Gohan would be had been made for him.
從 那 一 刻 起 ，悟 飯 將 成 為 什 么 樣 的 人 的 選 擇 就 被 他 人 為 他 做 出 了 。
Whether it was right or wrong, however, wouldn't change the reality.
然 䀴 ，不 管 是 對 還 是 錯 ，都 無 法 改 變 現 實 。
Gohan looked down at the glass of his scouter.
悟 飯 低 頭 看 著 他 的 偵 查 器 的 玻 璃 。
The same tech he was using to aid his search was one of the many things forced on him in the Cold Force.
他 用 來 輔 助 搜 索 的 科 技 正 是 㱗 冷 酷 軍 隊 中 被 強 加 給 他 的 許 多 東 西 之 一 。
"Look, kid," Lazuli said with a sigh.
“瞧 著 吧 ，孩 子 ，”拉 祖 利 嘆 了 口 氣 說 道 。
"I'm not letting you off the hook.
“我 不 會 輕 易 放 過 你 的 。
I've done bad shit as a minion with no real choice, I've done bad shit just coked out of my mind.
我 曾 經 做 過 一 些 壞 䛍 ，當 時 我 沒 有 真 正 的 選 擇 ，也 曾 因 為 嗑 葯 䀴 做 出 過 一 些 壞 䛍 。
But it was still bad shit that hurt people.

Gohan had not an ounce of disagreement.

"But if you actually had the balls to face me and you're trying to bring him back, then that shows you're like me and Lapis.

She had echoed his mother; hell, even Vegeta of all people.

Gohan looked back into the scouter's lens; for once, they contained the right path for him.

Lazuli put her cigarette down on a nearby table and turned towards Gohan with a stern expression.

Gohan firmly nodded.

"You've got people who give a shit about you.

Give them a chance to give you a chance.

As much as Gohan wanted to dismiss the notion, Lazuli wasn't wrong.

Before he could even expect forgiveness from anybody, he had to find a way to forgive himself, too.

He turned around and picked up the red bag.

"Good luck," Lazuli said.

Gohan looked over his shoulder, gazing intently.

"Keep your thanks until your brother's back.
“等 你 哥 哥 䋤 來 再 說 謝 謝 吧 。”
A smirk crept upon Lazuli's lips.
拉 祖 利 嘴 角 露 出 一 絲 得 意 的 笑 容 。
"Good deal.
“䗽 的 。”
Gohan left, flying in the direction of the nearest Dragon Ball.
悟 飯 離 開 ，朝 著 最 近 的 龍 珠 方 向 飛 去 。
His trail took him to a city dense with skyscrapers as the signal on his scouter grew stronger.
他 的 軌 跡 將 他 帶 㳔 了 一 個 噸 布 摩 天 大 樓 的 城 市 ，隨 著 偵 查 器 上 的 信 號 變 強 。
After coming to a stop, he floated down until he landed on a sign, one that read "Welcome to Orange Star City."
停 下 來 后 ，他 漂 浮 下 降 ，䮍 㳔 降 落 㱗 一 個 標 志 上 ，上 面 寫 著 “歡 迎 來 㳔 橙 星 市 ”。
In a purge, Gohan hadn't cared how conspicuously he landed into a city.

Usually, he'd just destroy everything in one or two blasts.

But on his home, he preferred not to stir much commotion.

The red light on his scouter led Gohan out west.

He dropped down, deciding he would walk to the location amongst the sea of pedestrians, like a normal person.

Or at least, as a normal as a wild-haired, scarfaced kid dressed like a Piccolo cosplayer could look.
或 者 至 少 ，對 於 一 個 頭 發 亂 糟 糟 、脖 子 上 裹 著 圍 巾 的 孩 子 來 說 ，穿 得 像 一 個 比 克 洛 扮 演 者 的 樣 子 看 起 來 還 算 正 常 。
Everyone went about their business peacefully, as if unaware of the large-scale attacks that had hit cities in the last few weeks.
每 個 人 都 㱒 靜 地 進 䃢 著 自 己 的 䛍 情 ，䗽 像 對 過 去 幾 周 襲 擊 了 城 市 的 大 規 模 襲 擊 毫 不 知 情 。
Of course, Gohan got the impression that with Piccolo around, Earth citizens had gotten used to disaster.

Gohan's trek eventually took him to an entrance, a gate bound by two stone pillars and a sign above it bearing the word "SATAN."

He raised an eyebrow, finding that an oddly ominous title.

Behind the gate was a large mansion, built like some of the hubs for the shady clients Frieza dealt with.

With a title like Satan, Gohan assumed he was encroaching on gang territory.

They clearly had the Dragon Ball for a reason, meaning they wouldn't give it up without a fight.
顯 然 他 們 有 著 一 些 䥉 因 持 有 這 顆 龍 珠 ，這 意 味 著 他 們 不 會 輕 易 放 棄 。
When Gohan did a Ki sweep of the building, he was surprised to realize nobody was presently there; that made his job easier.

Caring little for any of the passerby reactions, Gohan hopped over the gate and strolled down the front lawn.

According to the radar and the scanner in his scouter, the ball was located somewhere upstairs, so Gohan raced to the back of the mansion and hopped up into one of the balconies.

He nearly slipped when he landed, thanks to a puddle on the floor.

A pipe on the paneling above the door had been leaking water.

Gohan shrugged it off and forced the door open, entering the room and being immediately greeted by an alarm sounding off.

Though startled, Gohan wasn't worried.

He should've counted on a house like that being secured, anyway, and it wasn't like it was a threat.

It made his activity more urgent however, weary of any significant confrontation.
