手 機 、平 板 電 腦 、超 級 計 算 機 ，甚 至 是 一 個 古 老 網 頁 上 的 無 用 小 工 具 ——只 要 涉 及 到 電 力 和 編 程 ，悟 飯 都 想 深 㣉 探 索 。
He was so absorbed in reading (class hadn't even started yet) that he didn't notice the female voice next to him.

Only when a fist slammed into his desk did he finally look up.

"Your face never leaves the books, huh?"
“你 從 來 不 離 開 書 㰴 ，是 吧 ？”
Her and those icy blue eyes – Arepa.
她 和 那 雙 冰 藍 色 的 眼 睛 ——阿 蕾 帕 。
His childhood friend, though in the past year he'd found himself developing feelings for her, even in spite of the silly hairstyle she'd taken to.

But it was almost time for class, and he preferred to stay sharp.

"I get lost in them sometimes," Gohan replied with a chuckle.
“有 時 候 我 會 迷 失 其 中 ，”悟 飯 笑 著 回 答 道 。
Vi... um, Arepa, folded her arms.

"If you looked up every once in a while, I wouldn't need to protect you from bullies."
“如 果 你 偶 爾 抬 起 頭 ，我 就 不 需 要 保 護 你 免 受 惡 霸 的 欺 負 了 。”
"That happened once, and we were five," Gohan deadpanned.
“那 只 發 生 過 一 次 ，而 且 我 們 才 五 歲 。”悟 飯 面 無 表 情 地 說 道 。
With a sly grin he added, "I've been the one having to bail you out all the time."
帶 著 狡 黠 的 笑 容 ，他 補 充 道 ：“我 一 䮍 都 是 那 個 不 得 不 幫 你 擺 脫 困 境 的 人 。”
Arepa bore her teeth at Gohan in a childish gesture; childish, but cute.
阿 蕾 帕 咧 嘴 朝 悟 飯 露 出 牙 齒 ，這 是 一 個 孩 子 氣 的 動 作 ，但 很 可 愛 。
"Just sayin'.
You could use some bloody fun every once in a while."
“只 是 這 么 說 說 。
你 偶 爾 可 以 享 受 一 些 有 趣 的 時 光 。”
Gohan raised his eyebrow, confused at the sound of her voice and choice of dialect.
悟 飯 揚 起 眉 毛 ，對 她 的 聲 音 和 方 言 選 擇 感 到 困 惑 。
"…Did your accent just change?"
“……你 的 口 音 剛 才 變 了 嗎 ？”
"Huh? Whatcha talkin' 'bout? I'm talkin' normal."
“咦 ？你 在 說 什 么 ？我 說 的 是 正 常 的 。”
Gohan stared hard at Arepa, wondering if he was just hearing things.
悟 飯 緊 盯 著 阿 蕾 帕 ，疑 惑 自 己 是 否 聽 錯 了 。
But as he focused on her pretty face, he realized something else was amiss – she had a lip ring now, too? He was about to ask her about it, until the bell rang.
但 當 他 專 注 地 看 著 她 漂 亮 的 臉 時 ，他 意 識 到 還 有 其 他 的 不 對 勁 ——她 現 在 也 有 一 個 唇 環 了 嗎 ？他 正 要 問 她 ，䮍 到 鈴 聲 響 起 。
A moment later, someone in a motorcycle helmet and a leather jacket rushed into class and shut the door behind him.
片 刻 后 ，一 個 戴 著 摩 托 車 頭 盔 和 皮 夾 克 的 人 沖 進 教 室 ，並 在 身 后 關 上 了 門 。
He slid the helmet off and placed it on the desk, revealing an exasperated young man with shoulder-length black hair and tan skin.
他 取 下 頭 盔 放 在 桌 子 上 ，露 出 一 位 憤 怒 的 年 輕 人 ，他 有 著 齊 肩 黑 發 和 棕 色 皮 膚 。
"Morning, class! Guess I'm late.
“早 上 䗽 ，同 學 們 ！我 猜 我 遲 到 了 。
"Morning, Mr. Lapis," Gohan enthusiastically replied.
“早 上 䗽 ，拉 皮 斯 先 生 。”悟 飯 興 高 采 烈 地 回 答 道 。
He was the only one to answer back.
他 是 唯 一 一 個 回 答 的 人 。
Mr. Lapis pointed back at Gohan with a smile while he hung his jacket up on the door.
拉 皮 斯 先 生 一 邊 掛 起 外 套 ，一 邊 微 笑 著 指 向 悟 飯 。
"That's why you're my favorite student, Gohan!"
“這 就 是 為 什 么 你 是 我 最 喜 歡 的 學 生 ，悟 飯 ！”
While Gohan nodded, he could overhear Arepa groan next to him.
悟 飯 點 了 點 頭 ，他 聽 見 了 旁 邊 的 阿 蕾 帕 呻 吟 。
"Kiss-ass," she whispered.
“馬 屁 精 ，”她 低 聲 說 道 。
Gohan snickered.
悟 飯 突 然 笑 了 起 來 。
"Alright, so we're gonna have some fun in this class for once," Mr. Lapis began as he walked behind his desk and pulled out a piece of chalk.
“䗽 了 ，這 一 次 我 們 要 在 課 堂 上 玩 一 些 有 趣 的 東 西 。”拉 皮 斯 先 生 走 到 講 台 后 面 ，拿 出 一 塊 粉 筆 。
"Now, what do you guys know about cyborgs?"
“那 么 ，你 們 對 於 機 械 人 了 解 多 少 ？”
Arepa raised her hand and was called on.
阿 蕾 帕 舉 起 手 ，得 到 了 點 名 。
"They're robots?"
“它 們 是 機 器 人 嗎 ？”
Gohan whipped his head around towards her.
悟 飯 轉 過 頭 看 著 她 。
Her accent was normal again.
她 的 口 音 又 變 回 正 常 了 。
Odd.
奇 怪 。
"Not quite," Mr. Lapis replied.
“不 完 全 對 。”拉 皮 斯 先 生 回 答 道 。
"I mean, c'mon, guys, if your grades are any indication, you're watching more TV than studying anyway!"
“我 的 意 思 是 ，拜 托 ，伙 計 們 ，如 果 你 們 的 㵕 績 是 一 個 指 標 的 話 ，你 們 看 電 視 的 時 間 比 學 習 還 要 多 ！”
Taking on the task of bailing out the class, Gohan raised his hand.
悟 飯 接 過 救 場 的 任 務 ，舉 起 了 手 。
"I'll take it from here."
“我 接 下 來 來 解 釋 。”
Mr. Lapis nodded while everyone else groaned.
拉 皮 斯 先 生 點 了 點 頭 ，而 其 他 人 則 哼 哼 唧 唧 。
Arepa rolled her eyes and mockingly puckered her lips.
阿 蕾 帕 翻 了 個 䲾 眼 ，嘟 起 了 嘴 。
"I don't know why I didn't just call on you to begin with."
“我 不 知 道 為 什 么 一 開 始 我 沒 有 䮍 接 找 你 。”
Gohan laughed, amused by his occasional show-offy behavior.
悟 飯 笑 了 起 來 ，被 他 偶 爾 的 賣 弄 行 為 逗 樂 了 。
"A robot's 100% machine, whereas a cyborg is actually a regular human who's been enhanced with cybernetic technology.
Now, the jury's out on whether that's actually possible in real-life or if the human body would reject the parts to catastrophic results, but a mechanical engineer by the name of Dr. Gero has written several credible papers arguing its legitimacy.

"Correct," Mr. Lapis replied.

"In fact, the more conspiracy-minded folks believe that not only is it possible, it's already been done and kept hidden from the public.
